Cursed Blood

Welcome poor soul to the blighted lands of Kuthan. No mortal now living knows how the world came to be or how we ended up here but what is known is that we are not from this place. Kuthan exists in a space between two dimensions. Like an undulating bubble floating amidst a vast black ocean trapped in a dark current never able to rise and break free to the world above. We are stuck in that bubble and our true home resides beyond the dark ocean but as I have stated how we got here is hard to say only the pantheon of death gods that rule this world feasting on the life blood of the cursed know.

The very fabric of reality is thin here and allows dark entities beyond physical dimensions to coalesce into being and prey on the living. There are many real and unreal creatures that fester here in this jagged rocky maw we call Kuthan. It is human souls that the demonic feast on enslaving the spirits of the living into endless torment and servitude. In order for the soul of an unfortunate Kuthanian to be taken it must first be marked by the dark magic that binds reality in this in-between dimension allowing a gateway for the demon to enter and consume the pure soul within. This marking of the soul is known as ‘Deaths Kiss’ and any who are cursed with this affliction will be eternally damned upon their death and given over to demon-kind.

There is however a way out of eternal damnation the curse is a double-edged sword it also offers the ability to control dark magic. It is through the use of dark magic that the afflicted may cheat death and gain everlasting life. Each Kuthanian cursed by ‘Deaths Kiss’ must make their choice; eternal damnation and be feasted on by demons or follow the ‘Paths of the Dead’ and the dangers it holds in an attempt to gain everlasting life and save their souls.
